Safety while Skiing and Snowboarding
The Mountain Rescue in Bulgaria does not have
the use of helicopters and other highly technical devices in rescue
operations. They do have snowmobiles and search dogs.
There are NO
Avalanche Hazard Reports and due to the specific climate, avalanches
are common. The services of Mountain Rescue have to be paid for and a
typical price might be anywhere between 100€ for transport with a
broken leg to over 500€ for a mountain rescue operation.
Wherever
possible ski with a local guide or instructor.
