Diving in the region of Varna
This area offers excellent shipwreck dive sites and dive sites
with underwater caves and caverns close to Varna. Most of
the sites are accessible from the shore or by small boats.
Diving conditions are good in the temperate waters although
the visibility can be limited. The best time for diving activities
is between March and October. During the summer period the
air temperature in Varna can reach 35°C and the water
temperature 23°C between June and September. Temperate
water diving equipment is recommended. Varna is also an excellent
place to start diving as the coastline topography allows shallow
and protected waters to accommodate the training of beginners.
